Shane Rogerson
Shane grew up in the Hills of Sydney where he came to know Jesus and to serve the gospel through youth work and social services. Shane trained for ministry at Moore College, and prior to coming to St Matthew's he was involved in leadership in Anglican Churches in the inner city and the south coast of New South Wales, as well as leading short-term missions for gap students to Fiji. Shane is passionate about Jesus and about ordinary people living out the gospel in shared lives. Apart from thinking, teaching and trying to live out the implications of the gospel and community, his interests include grinds, rucks, reds, brews, and all things Apple. Shane is married to Ali and they have four children: Molly, Liam, Grace and Declan.

Children’s and family worker

Helen Jacobs

Helen runs our playgroups, Kids’ Club and various other activities. She also worked at St Jude’s Anglican Church, Carlton, as a pastoral worker for two years, and is currently studying theology part-time at Ridley College. Helen and her husband Bruce have two children. Before the children arrived, Helen worked as a research scientist at the Melbourne University Veterinary School. She keeps fit by cycling and swimming and is kept busy transporting the kids to various after school activities

Stephen Nicholas

Community Outreach Worker

Stephen coordinates our ministry assistance to the poor in the community. On Mondays and Wednesdays the Church gives food parcels to people in need, and on Tuesdays, a “drop-in” Church service and morning tea is run by Stephen. Stephen has extensive experience in welfare, counselling and church ministry and brings qualifications in Ministry and Counselling to the role. Stephen is passionate about social justice and finding solutions. When not working, he enjoys time with his family and playing the occasional game of squash.
